Duntrune Castle, located on the north side of Loch Crinan in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, is believed to be the oldest continuously inhabited castle in mainland Scotland. Originally built in the 13th century by the MacDougalls, it later became the seat of the Campbells of Duntroon until 1792.
The castle features a mix of medieval architecture, including a 13th-century curtain wall and a 17th-century tower house.
It has a rich history, including a famous siege by the MacDonalds in the 17th century.
Duntrune is now owned by the Malcolm family and is a Category B listed building. The castle is a private residence but also offers holiday cottages for visitors.
Its picturesque location and historical significance make it a notable landmark in Scotland.
